Hello!

We are a family of four, who have spent many vacations in the surroundings of Siljan. In 2021 we saw this property on sale, and fell in love with it´s old history and nice location in the beautiful part of the small town Mora, right next to the church, the park and the finish line of Vasaloppet.

On our first year as owners, we made some renovations and preparations - and since the summer of 2022 we started to recieve guests. Soon it became a very popular place to stay for people travelling through Mora. Today we plan for two more houses, that will hopefully be built some time during 2026.

The history of the property goes back a long time. The two buildings that we now call the Telegraph (T e l e g r a f e n) and The Abode (B o n i n g e n) were built in the late 19:th century.

Telegrafen has been completely renovated in 2023 to recreate a feeling of the late 19:th century, when the house was once an inn and telegraph/telephone station. In the interior there are several details from this time, such as furniture and telephones from the 19th century, paintings by the famous artist Anders Zorn's apprentices and wallpaper in recreated patterns from the turn of the century. The history of the female founder of the house, Miss Augusta Mjöberg, has been documented by one of her relatives, who collected photographs, letters and other documentations of her family´s history in a book. While staying in Telegrafen, you are welcome to carefully read the book "Greetings from Augusta Mjöberg" if you like.

Boningen have been divided into five separate apartments, named after different occupations that people who has lived here on the property has had: Shoemaker, Baker, Tailor, Confectioner and Brewer. In the interior of the apartments, you can find some old artifacts related to the work they did.

As you can tell, the propery and the house rental that our family run here today, are so much more than just a business for us. It is our dream project, involving the whole family and also our relatives - who love to stay here for recreation and inspiration.
